Match played @ Langstone Harbour on 15th August 2010.
Wallys performed admirably against, it has to be said a weakened Gosport side, Wallys batted first & amassed a total of 289 for 4 wkts off 40 overs. M Norris top scored with 75 followed closely by our skipper I Tutton with 74, these two were ably supported by A Norris 50 no & S Kelly 48, other contributions were from P Hutchin 15no & R Richards 1 who was cruelly run out by our skipper before being allowed to get into his stride.
A devastating spell with the ball saw J v Parys take out the early Gosport batsmen, which included a hat-trick, his final figures being 6 overs 1 maiden 15 runs 5 wkts, everyone else contributed with either the ball or their efforts in the field. Culminating in Gosport being dispatched for 127 ao in 31.2 overs. Man of the match was given to J v Parys.
Well done Wallys in what has been a successful season so far.
Wally Hammond was the inspiration behind out team name, one of Englands finest cricketers.

Dear Viewer,
this blog has been created to give you an insight into our cricket team, we are a sunday cricket side playing friendly matches in & around Hampshire, East & West Sussex predominantly. Our season runs from April through to September usually with an annual tour of Devon.
We currently have a squad of 17 players but are always looking out for new players, we enjoy trying to accommdate new fixtures into our season whenever possible. We have been playing now for 17 seasons & enjoy reasonable success although the enjoyment of the game is paramount.
We currently do not have our own ground but play on council pitches or away matches. I will endeavour through this blog site to keep you up to date with our results, players achievements & man of the match & such like.
